Our story
Jona Travel & Tours was founded in Tirana in 1999 with one aim: to bring the world to Albania. The company grew with the country, from the first incoming groups to beach programmes for Europe's leading tour operators, round trips, events and outgoing travel.
With that experience came hotels. IONA Hospitality began by leasing and running independent hotels on the coast and in Berat, then became the management company of the franchised Accor hotels in Albania: Mercure Tirana in 2026, with Novotel Tirana Centre and Swissôtel Qerret to come.
In 2025 the group took a new name, IONA, rooted in the Ionian Sea, and one promise for every guest and partner: Experience Excellence.
